King Power, in collaboration with Mahidol University and six leading music labels, sets the stage for the music industry’s newest faces with ‘THE POWER BAND 2023 Season 3,’ the finest quality international music band competition
in the country

             It is yet another high-quality platform that nurtures creativity, inspiration, and chances for Thailand’s new generation of musicians, preparing them to enter the professional music industry. The King Power Thai Power, in collaboration with Mahidol University’s College of Music and six leading Thai music labels — Muzik Move, LOVEiS Entertainment, Smallroom, What The Duck, Warner Music Thailand, and XOXO Entertainment, as well as Yamaha Music School, The Guitar Mag, and T-POP — organise the competition ‘THE POWER BAND 2023 Season 3.’ This is the country’s most important international band competition, with the goal of identifying fresh, inspiring, and creatively brilliant international bands. The competition provides a total reward worth 1,500,000 baht.

                   Apichet Srivaddhanaprabha, Assistant Chief Operating Officer of the King Power Corporation, stated that “the goal of ‘THE POWER BAND 2023 Season 3’ competition is to create a stage for high-quality and internationally known music. The purpose is to inspire new-generation students, scholars, and music enthusiasts from across the country to participate in this band competition. King Power has joined forces with renowned and experienced music partners to provide possibilities for not just performing but also learning to improve skills, abilities, and a quality professional music career. This is all part of the ‘It’s Possible’ philosophy — Music Makes Life Possible, the power of music, the power of limitless possibilities. King Power also believes that participants in THE POWER BAND stage will obtain experience and knowledge that can be used to boost their ability to become worldwide famous artists, therefore contributing to Thailand’s future international reputation.”

                   Dr. Narong Prangcharoen, Dean of Mahidol University’s College of Music, announced that “THE POWER BAND 2023 Season 3, an international band competition, is now open to students, new-generation scholars, and music enthusiasts with a passion for music. To make it more accessible, the competition is held in five locations: Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, Songkhla, Nakhon Pathom (Salaya), and Bangkok. There are two categories in the competition: 1. Class A: High school students compete for popular international bands. 2. Class B: General public competition for popular international bands. The evaluation requirements remain stringent, taking into account vocal style, musical composition, theoretical understanding of music, musical instrument proficiency, performance completeness, and, most significantly, teamwork. Participants should be dedicated and passionate about music, as this may lead to them becoming the competition’s champions.”

                   ‘THE POWER BAND 2023 Season 3’ has been recognised by a committee of experienced and known Thai music industry leaders, as well as six top Thai music labels, who are working together to identify new musical talents and assist them become dazzling stars in Thailand’s music industry. The committee includes Danuphop Kamol, Vice President of Muzik Move Co., Ltd., who will provide expert coaching and mentorship to contestants in order to help them become talented and professional musicians; Akarawit Piriyodom, Head of the Popular Music Department of Mahidol University’s College of Music; Kotchaphak Phonthanachot, Executive Producer of Boxx Music and Zircle Muzik; Krittikorn Pornsatit, Executive Producer of Home Run Music; Pireeya Teerawattanasawat, Managing Director of LOVEiS Entertainment; Natthaphong Suthiwirisan, A&R Executive of What The Duck; Karl Nitat Kongkham, Managing Director of Warner Music Thailand; Chalakorn Panyashom, Chief Operating Officer of Digital TV, Workpoint Entertainment Public Company Limited; the executive of XOXO Entertainment; members of the Tattoo Colour band, representing Smallroom; Onanong Khaobubpha, Executive Director of Boonrawd Brewery Co., Ltd.; Krod Matiko, Editor of The Guitar Mag and Dr.Perawat ChookhiattiManaging Director of Siam Music Yamaha Co., Ltd.

            Registration for the preliminary rounds of the competition is now open in five competition locations: Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, Songkhla, Nakhon Pathom (Salaya), and Bangkok. The goal is to find champions from each site who will then receive additional music training from Thailand’s top-level professionals at POWER BAND CAMP. Following that, they will battle for the coveted trophy and total rewards totalling over 1,500,000 baht.
