Management Strategy
The implementation approach encompasses measures such as installing water-saving devices in service areas, including automatic spray nozzles; recycling wastewater on-site for reuse in non-potable activities such as floor cleaning and landscape irrigation; monitoring for leaks in warehouses; and developing advanced wastewater treatment systems capable of effectively handling water contaminated with oil and food residues. One of the most notable achievements is the installation of a wastewater treatment and recycling system utilizing Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology at the Rangnam site. This system enables treated water to be reused for irrigating the organization’s green spaces, reducing municipal water consumption by up to 2%, and serving as a tangible model of technology-driven environmental stewardship.
เป้าหมาย
To establish an efficient water management system across all service areas of King Power, the approach emphasizes systematic water resource management from source to end use, along with continuous water quality monitoring to prevent contamination and minimize impacts on surrounding ecosystems and communities.
โครงการสำคัญ
– Installation of Water-Saving Technologies: Implementing automatic spray nozzles, sensor-based systems in restrooms and service areas, and promoting the use of water-efficient devices across retail stores, restaurants, and office spaces.
– Recycling Wastewater Using Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Technology: Treating wastewater to a high level of purity for reuse in activities such as floor cleaning and landscape irrigation, significantly reducing municipal water consumption. Additionally, upgrading specialized wastewater treatment systems for central kitchens and warehouses to handle oil, food scraps, and grease, thereby improving filtration efficiency and minimizing wastewater discharge into ecosystems.

– Wastewater Treatment through Phytoremediation: Utilizing natural plants such as water lettuce, water hyacinth, and cattails in retention ponds or green areas as part of a nature-based treatment approach. This method helps reduce the burden on mechanical systems while enhancing the landscape.
Achievement
The water quality assessment in 2024 revealed that the pH, BOD, and TSS levels of treated water were significantly lower than Thailand’s regulatory standards. This reflects King Power’s strong commitment to minimizing impacts on aquatic ecosystems while driving the tourism business in harmony with sustainable environmental conservation.
